Foreword

ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.

Introduction

With the increasing popularity of Wushu (Chinese martial arts also known as Kung Fu), especially various Taiji sports, Wushu Taiji clothing has become a type of sport clothes widely used in sport, leisure activities and workout exercises as well as for demonstration to the public. Although it is being used and sold throughout the world, no relevant standards have been established.

This document is intended to provide guidelines to businesses, practitioners and to promote the international trade of the Wushu Taiji clothing. It has been designed as a technical support and for the promotion of Taiji sports in a scientific and safe way to safeguard consumers’ safety and interests.

1 Scope

This document specifies classifications, requirements and test methods of Wushu Taiji clothing for performing the Wushu Taiji sport. This document is applicable to the Wushu Taiji clothing made of textile fabrics for adult users.
