Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.
Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated to the member bodies for voting. Publication as an International Standard requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies casting a vote.
International Standard ISO 7152 was developed by Technical Committee ISO/TC 83, Sports and recreational equipment, Subcommittee SC 2, Camping tents.
This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 7152:1984), of which it constitutes a technical revision.
Annexes A, B and C of this International Standard are given for information only.
Scope
This International Standard gives a list of the most frequent terms relating to camping tents and caravan awnings together with some definitions. It also covers the relevant terms used in ISO 5912:1993, Camping tents, ISO 8936:1988, Caravan awnings — Safety requirements and ISO 8937:1991, Caravan awningsFunctional requirements and tests methods.
"Caravans" in this International Standard always means caravans and motor caravans.
NOTES
- 1 In addition to the terms and definitions in two of the three official ISO languages (English and French) this International Standard gives the equivalent terms and definitions in German and Japanese; these have been included at the request of ISO Technical Committee ISO/TC 83 and are published under the responsibility of the member bodies of Germany (DIN), Switzerland (SNV) and Japan (JISC). However, only the terms and definitions in the official languages can be considered as ISO terms and definitions.
